A MARRIAGE: 1 (SUBURBIA)
Available for touring
A MARRIAGE: 1 (SUBURBIA) premiered at HERE in spring 2013, using the whole building (theaters, hallways, dressing rooms, etc. ) as
performance/gallery space. It is a suburban idyllic, (Ward Cleaver,
Soccer-Dad Minivans and Betty Crocker Pot-roasts) comprised of video,
sculpture, drawings and performances that work together to appropriate the
heritage of a once purely heterosexual set of aspirations.
A MARRIAGE:1 (SUBURBIA) was originally commissioned, developed and produced at HERE through the HERE Artist Residency Program (HARP). Funding for the project was provided through the MAP fund, a program of Creative Capital, supported by the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation, and the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation. Additional support provided by mediaThe Foundation, inc.
