OTHER WORK > PREPARATIONS FOR A MARRIAGE

The first in our four-part MARRIAGE series, PREPARATIONS FOR A MARRIAGE was exhibited at Pittsburgh’s Future Tenant Gallery in conjunction with Pavel Zustiak's and LABCO's S(EVEN). The work consisted of various objects cast in ice and other objects and materials frozen into blocks and slabs: men’s shirts and ties, oxford shoes, layers of ink, sheep’s wool and light bulbs.

Each piece was created to melt over the course of the show and required constant attention: mopping, propping up, etc. and each was meant to have a specific and momentary lifespan. A clock on the wall counted up from the time that the pieces were removed from their freezers.
