We watched all 83 John Wayne Westerns, repeating every word he spoke. As we spoke, we captured our breath in bags, tied each one and suspended them from multiple points organized by film, transforming the text into a physical volume of breath. Each string was attached to a system of pullies so that they could be individually raised and lowered and was marked with a shipping label with the name of the film typed on it.
