To celebrate Frenchy's remarkable story, we invited five transgender or gender non-conforming artists, writers, or activists from around the country to write a toast to this unsung pioneer. They delivered their toasts at simultaneous potlucks in Houston, Minneapolis, Los Angeles, New York, and Tahlequah, Oklahoma which were connected via video conference to Trinidad where Nick & Jake were gathered in the lobby of the Mt San Rafael Hospital with friends and community members including Sister Regina Marie, a Franciscan nun and Trinidad native who offered the toast from Colorado.
This one-night communal assertion that the road to LGBTQ2 progress has been paved by ordinary people with the extraordinary bravery to live their lives as they believed they should was recorded and is now exhibited as a six-channel immersive video installation.
