Much of the land in Wyoming is now private property, bordered by fences. We found deep drifts of tumbleweeds stacked against these fences, unable to continue on their journey. We displayed three of these plants in a vitrine with an antique desk fan. The tumbleweeds trembled in the breeze: a tribute to a 'closed' frontier (both geographical and sexual) that had been populated by Stewart and his party.
