WYOMING takes its inspiration from William Benneman's great 2012 history, "Men in Eden: William Drummond Stewart and Same-Sex Desire in the Rocky Mountain Fur Trade" which chronicles the homosexual Scottish lord's Western travels in the 1830s with his lover the celebrated Native American/French Canadian hunter Antoine Clement.

In 1843 Stewart organized a 1,200 mile pleasure excursion with 100 probably like-minded men from St Louis to the Wind River Range of Wyoming, where they threw an all-male lake-side bacchanal replete with wagons of liquor and a trunk of renaissance costumes.
