We will assemble full acknowledgements and bibliography as we complete 50 STATES: COLORADO. In the meantime we wanted to note that we first learned about Charles "Frenchy" Vosbaugh from reading Jim Wilke's 1996 essay "Homosexuality in the American West" in Frontiers Newsmagazine. And to thank Sister Regina for introducing us around Trinidad and for being a most wonderful and unconventional person. And to thank the people in Trinidad who have been so welcoming and hospitable. The librarians at the Denver Public Library's Western History Collection were instrumental in helping us find the many newspaper articles that fleshed out "Frenchy's" story, and the folks at the Las Animas County Records Room, the Trinidad Catholic Cemetery, and Piñon Canyon Military Maneuvering Grounds were particularly helpful.
