50 STATES > Oklahoma

50 STATES: OKLAHOMA is an immersive video installation that references a 1931 experimental film that Riggs made in which he documented a day in the life of his adopted home of Santa Fe. Featuring a cast of queer Oklahomans in Tulsa and Tahlequah in 2016 our film is a portrait of out, celebratory daily queer life in one of our nation's most socially conservative states; a portrait that we imagine Riggs would never have predicted.
